As some of you may now, I had to downgrade from about 70 rabbits to about 15. I was not a happy camper. I bought a pair of beautiful opals from Peggy Campbell, and out of all the rabbits I had to part with I decided to keep this pair. Absolutely immaculate, gorgeous. Nova is one of the best bucks I have ever had the pleasure to put my hands on. The story behind Saphire is that I had completely forgot I had bought her. Didn't realize it until we got to Convention and I got a call. There was a red and lilac traveling with her, and I gave those away and kept her. There was just something about this doe. Saphire is a hard built doe with a lot of type.
Before the sellout/downgrade, whatever you want to call it, I had gotten 2 broken blues. One from Noble Fur Rabbitry, and one from Outback Rabbitry. I forget what I bought MoonPie for. I do remember that Crescent was bought for the band of lilacs I had at the time. I got to track that doe down. Like I said before, I got them for type reasons, I was not too fond of the color.
My opinion about this variety started to change during Convention. I got to put my hands on the BOV blue. OOOOH , it was like cold heat on my hand. Extremely impressed with the result of what a blue SHOULD LOOK LIKE. Presentation is everything , and I think this is why some of the lesser worked on varieties are not worked on.
Well anyways, decided I would dive into the deep blue sea for a while and see how that goes.
